The 60th Parachute Field Ambulance

This platoon was essential a mobile army surgical hospital (MASH). It jointed UN forces on December 1950 and became soon the medical evacuation unit for the 27th British Commonwealth Brigade. The unit quickly gained the respect of all troops. Approximately 20.000 Commonwealth troops were treated in the 1000 beds by the 200 staff, before evacuated to long term care hospitals. India was also the Chairman of the NNRC comprised of India, Denmark, Poland and Czechoslovakia. The task of this delegation was to supervise the repatriation of prisoners of war between North and South Korea prevent infiltration across the DMZ.
